It’s a TOI plus article but it opens alright with BPC extension even if someone doesn’t have a subscription.

If someone is unable to read despite it, please comment and I’ll copy/paste the article on some text site.

I am unable to read it despite the extension.

A paywalled article from TOI which ironically uses AI generated art. TOI staying true to its label - the scum of Indian newspapers.

Huh, that shouldn’t happen. I opened it on mobile with the latest version of the extension and it worked well. Either case, I did link the full article text in another comment.

Does this public-private partnership truly benefit the public?

It never does: whenever public services are delegated to private companies on the promise that they’ll run them better for cheaper, it holds true for 2 or 3 years, and then the service degrades and becomes more expensive because the shareholders are greedy and they know they’ve captured the market.

Case in point: private highways in France that cost you a fortune, railway services in the UK that are always late or cancelled, healthcare in Finland which is even worse than the UK’s despite being a Scandinavian country, and of course almost everything in the US.

Do share the article as text. Also, which BPC extension do you use? The original on github got removed due to a DMCA takedown.

      Article as text : https://sharetext.io/bae3b7b3

The dev for BPC moved to, as of latest Wiki, https://gitflic.ru/user/magnolia1234 .

IIRC, it moved to Gitlab first but was hounded from there as well due to obvious piracy concerns. Eithercase, once the extension is installed, it auto updates, so one need not care about source post installation.

If you need to read on mobile, I think, two forks of Firefox support extension sideloading. SmartCookieWebPreview (which is a slimmed down browser) and Iceraven ( which is a proper fork for Android only).
