“My wife loves her trike, happiest I’ve ever seen her and we’ve been together for 44 years.”
“I’m 91 years old, 92 next month. My trike lets me exercise my heart, lungs, and legs while having fun…Never planned to live this long, don’t know how to act but me and my trike have fun every day.”
“We bought one for my husband (disabled Veteran)…he can’t walk but maybe 100 steps. OMG!! It only took me 35 years to find something we could do together!!!…We kid about ‘we got TRIKES’ and we’re ‘GOIN RIDIEN!!’ I love my husband and am Sooo happy to ride with him!!!”
Yup. I got my wife an e-trike specifically because she has balance issues and can’t ride a two-wheeled bike. Trikes are amazing, and I’m happy to see more out there!
I didn’t believe that guy was 91 until I saw the socks.
My wife got an aventon abound (e-bike, not trike)this last winter, and it has been great. We go on all day family bike rides once per weekend, weather permitting. She still pedals and gets a workout but it helps for steep hills and the distances I like to go. Our oldest sits on the passenger rail on the back and I drag the youngest in a burley bee.
We usually loop around one of the lakes by us stopping at playgrounds along the way, we do anywhere from 30 to 40 miles. It’s family time, outdoor time, and exercise all wrapped up in one. My wife was a bit nervous at first, but now she loves it. Stuff like the bike and the trike in the post are great for getting people moving and outside who might be otherwise daunted or unable. Everyone deserves mobility
I saw a refurbished electric cargo trike a decade ago in great condition for $350. I’ve kicked myself ever since for not buying it on the spot, it is exactly what my wife needs and wants.
Get some dawg make it happen and send pics
Unfortunately my wife did not like any when we tried a few years ago. I have contemplated getting something like a pedicab.
I’ve seen elderly people in my community riding around and doing their shopping on these a few times, they always seem very pleased with it. It has to beat dragging around one of those foldable shopping carts, for sure!
