Do not underestimate the greed and short sightedness of the republicans. They don’t care about anything more than what puts the most money in their pockets right now.
Yeah, I can’t see how pissing off Raytheon, Lockmart, etc. is a good idea. That’s how your political opponent ends up with billion-dollar election funds.
Personally, I see every reason to piss them off. Then again, I think that we need to finally heed Eisenhower’s warning about the MIC and find a way to shut it down. Mind you, I also think we need to heed Goldwater’s warning about the Republican party, and Washington’s warnings about both forming parties and being tied up in Eurasian politics & culture.
It won’t ever happen, of course, because it’s not the most profitable thing. And it would take power away from the kleptocrats and give it back to the people.
