I dont trust ambition. I mean sure, when youre younger and building a life it makes sense. And even then ambition needs to be relaxed once your basic needs are met. By the time you have hit about 50 you should chill out, spend time in contemplation, play with the grandkids, travel, bike tour, whatever. Every time I see an “ambitious” mature adult it always seems geared towards power, greed, or trying to repair some unrecognized trauma. Ambitious people seem to have a core philosophy of never enough.
