It’s dumb. Nothing like seeing this one local known as “2 guns”. Walks into Harris teeter rocking a 1911 on each hip. Cause HT is so violent.

And remember years ago dude carried a rocket launcher into subway. That was in NC

There are times and places. Or, corners and doors, if you will. Best case is that relaxed rules make it easier for the citizen to determine what is legal and what is not. Was driving to our camp in the boonies yesterday. Honestly didn’t know if it was legal to have my long guns on the passenger side. Also, I have a conceal carry license which I don’t “technically” need? Gun laws are seriously weird, incomprehensible and dumb in America.

Better case, they can’t fuck with minorities, or other “undesirables”, exercising their rights. Buddy in Alabama was applying for his conceal carry, which must be approved by the county sheriff, with a photograph. “Good thing you’re a middle-aged white guy! Pass.”

Speaking of dumb, I remember when Oklahoma went open carry. Some dipshit, wannabe cowboy was rocking his 6-shooters downtown, promptly had a mugger remove them from his possession.

No idea what lemmy thinks gun nuts feel on this subject, but I can attest, the vast majority of us think open carry should be legal, and not practiced. No sane gun nut (heh) advocates open carry, except for the aforementioned door and corners. That make sense?

While we’re at it, imagine how peaceful the California protests would be if the people openly carried long guns. Time and again cops suddenly turn mushy, “Now let’s all be peaceable here folks!” Contrast that with the unarmed crowd abuse we’re seeing. To some extent, an armed society is a polite society. And I have two, very recent, anecdotes where I would have had my ass beat if I had not been visibly armed.
