With some prominent Democrats and liberal pundits arguing for the party to try to win Elon Musk back to its side, you have to ask: Is American politics simply a matter of who can best kiss the ass of narcissistic reactionary billionaires?

The fucking world is burning and I partially blame the left for ineffective and incompetent strategies and ideals. In my life, the left has a decent hold on things. Every year things improved bit by bit. But then the Internet came and it became clearer and clearer things changed. Instead of adsorption adapting the left just lost and continued to lose and never once has been critical of why they have been losing. It’s always how others are just dumb or rich.

They’re losing because the left is no longer effective as a group and Democrats are closer to Republicans but that’s only because they’re allowed to be by the people. The problem is that if he funds things he’s going to trying to influence things to go to the right. He hates “woke”, believes white genocide is a threat, believes in suppression of free speech, hates regulation, etc…
I don’t think he believes any of those things. He’s a capitalist. He doesn’t care because those are rules. Rules do not apply to the rich like him. He absolutely believes in those things, and has shown multiple times he’s willing to light his money on fire to support his ideals. He’s idealistic (adjacent to the neo-fascist Dark Enlightenment movement), and not just simply motivated by wealth.
As a believer of white genocide there’s no way we can convince him to aid Palestine. Supporting Ukraine again, maybe.
I think guys like him can be convinced to action with some very petty motivations. But we just need methods to motivate

Its bad strategy and the thing that Democrats really need to learn right now: Money doesn’t win elections.
3x+ fundraising for Harris. Loss.
Musk drops millions on judicial race. Loss.
People win elections. You are just wrong about money.
Money doesn’t win elections alone. But it’s like 90% of what it takes to win. A politician spends most of their year canvassing for funds. That is why Washington is majority call centers for these politicians. Look it up. It has the most call centers per capita because they all cold call donors for funding.
The left needs content. Content creators need funding. People don’t win elections. Money wins elections. If money didn’t win elections, the deliverables Democrats would have a higher success rate. The left is circling the drain. It’s not the 1900s anymore. A political group made up of poor angry young people isn’t going to be able to punch as hard against the authoritarian forces that exist today. You can’t just freak out and burn cities. You need subversion and better strategy. It all costs money. The left on all fronts has lost. There’s no coming back especially with the awareness some of them have. They do the same thing every year and act like it’ll work while also crying about how bad it’s become. But it’s never them it’s always the mean rich people. Well maybe being rich has something to do with their success and victories over the past could decades.
