People don’t get this. There are always false positives. Always. That new surveillance system scanning retinas? Yup, some innocent person will get flagged. And we’ll likely make new scientific discoveries like we did when DNA testing hit the scene.

DNA testing. Pretty foolproof given we have unique genetic signatures, right? Yeah, no, turns out some people have different genetic identifiers per organ. It took an innocent person falsely flagged to make this discovery.

These edge cases exist everywhere. If anyone was around when Tumblr tried to wipe porn from its platform saw just how many erroneous pictures that didn’t even depict a person, were flagged as explicit.

Probably the most comical are the AI testing websites where probably double digit false flags have destroyed an innocent students grade or even academic future.

With regards to CSAM are complicated algorithms with a million different interests at play. Shit will break.
