      Yes, sorry I should have been clearer. All songs need to be new, never publicly performed before the year of the contest.

      They can be WRITTEN and produced earlier, but not released.

        isn’t it “earlier than a year before the contest” and not “year of the contest”?

        they performed blood and glitter in 2023.

          You may be correct. I don’t know the best place to find rules, as I know they’ve changed several times over the decades.

            I believe it cannot be released before September 1st of the prior year, so songs for 2026 cannot be released before September 1st this year.
