Imagine doing infinity hours of art work for a video game and then using ChatGPT for your store page image instead of using an in-game screenshot.
The in-game images look way better and are more representative of the product!
If they did use ChatGPT for the store image, they certainly did not disclose it on the Steam page ¬_¬ let’s hope they actually didn’t use AI and this is just a false positive, instead of them hiding their use of AI.
It’s definitely ChatGPT. There’s a very specific style it outputs, including that hallmark sepia tone. And it doesn’t even look anything like the actual game art.
You are right it looks nothing like the game art. I have seen similar confirmed human-drawn art in similar styles to the title/thumbnail picture which is probably part of why I can’t tell. I am really easily fooled by AI unfortunately. I was expecting a cute 2D game and got 3D that frankly feels, to me, like a lot of other 3D tycoon games that I personally feel have bad aesthetics/graphics and may or may not (would not know because I do not know what the individual assets on stores look like, as a person who never tried developing 3D games) be asset flips. Much disappointment. And for someone who does like that style, still has a misleading thumbnail.
