I recently read Darkly Dreaming Harry by LineApe and enjoyed its unique take on Harry as a genuine psychopath-cold, calculating, and utterly detached from normal human emotion, much like Dexter from the TV series.

The fic’s blend of horror, dark humor, and psychological insight is fascinating, especially the way Harry manipulates those around him and views the world through such an alien lens.

Unfortunately, the Fic was last updated (if I am reading this right) 11-29-2010.

What I’m Looking For:

• Fics where Harry is a true psychopath, sociopath, or otherwise emotionally detached, and uses his intelligence to manipulate or control others.
• Bonus points for stories where he collects “minions” from among his classmates (especially Hermione, Ron, or even Slytherins), brainwashes them, or treats them as pawns/pets.
• I especially enjoy fics where Harry is condescending, treats others as tools, or explores power dynamics in twisted, creative ways.
• Any genre welcome: time travel, possession, AU, or canon divergence.
• Dark humor or a chilling, introspective narrative style is a huge plus.

Examples of What I Like:

• The way “Darkly Dreaming Harry” explores Harry’s internal monologue and his cold logic.
• Scenes where Harry manipulates or “collects” people (like the Luna scene with true names, or potential for making Hermione his “pet”).
• Fics where Harry’s relationships with Ron, Hermione, and others are fundamentally altered by his lack of empathy.
