This is that “A computer can never be held liable” image writ fucking large. Jesus Christ.
The UK is such a legal shithole.
Wes Streeting is liable.
lol how the fuck did Wikipedia’s editors let this self serving bullshit fly
Streeting’s two grandfathers, both named Bill, were key figures in his youth. His maternal grandfather, Bill Crowley, was acquainted with the infamous East End Krays. He was “really well-read and well-informed”, and engaged his grandson in lively discussions about religion and politics. Streeting’s paternal grandfather served in the Second World War in the Royal Navy and later in the merchant navy before becoming a civil engineer. He recalled: “He was the grandad I was closest to. He was a traditional working-class Tory.”
Oh I’m already having to piece together what the doctor actually said from the surrounding context and what words sound similar and I don’t even live in the UK.
It’s called proofreading. You should always do it when using any kind of transcription software, especially anything AI driven
It’s a transcription, you aren’t just checking for spelling mistakes.
Having to listen to the recording of the session again and again while reading the generated transcription to make sure everything written was actually said and not invented or paraphrased certainly seems to negate any benefit gained from using these legally mandated tools.
If the doctor has to double-check the entire recording. Just give the recording to the patient. And due to this policy doctors might be scared into even triple-checking it.
What a waste of time from the people we* need most as our population grows older.
*I’m not a patient of the NHS. I say this as humanity in general.
