New scam just dropped. “I am the government. Please verify your identity by sending your birth certificate and credit card info.”

Why in the world are these people getting random emails from DHS? Like, I’d immediately delete it as a scam. Since when does government start sending out emails for things like this? This is at least the 2nd person who has gotten an email like this.
Like, even if it is a mistaken recipient, sending this sort of thing by email is just insane.
This is what’s baffling to me.
An email from “the government”? LOL okay. That’s going right in the bin!
