Most instances have a support community for discussing technical issues with that particular server.
As each instance names these slightly differently, I thought I’d create a thread to collect as many as possible.

Please comment below with equivalent communities and I’ll add them to the list.
I would also recommend that instance admins include a link to their meta/support community in the sidebar of their instance.
On a somewhat related note, do any instance admins still have Reddit accounts they would be willing to reveal here?
I’ve come across many Redditors who are interested in Lemmy but give up after experiencing issues on signup. I think the ability to have instance admins reach out to users on Reddit directly could be a useful tool in reducing the friction of the Lemmy onboarding process.
If you are an instance admin and are comfortable sharing your Reddit username, please do so below.
@snowe@programming.dev, @Ategon@programming.dev, @UlrikHD@programming.dev, @recursive_recursion@programming.dev

We have the support@lemmy.ca email that can be used for signup issues.
Thanks! Added.
While we do have accounts, I don’t think they’re monitored actively. It’s probably best to list the email address. We all can see those emails, and we’ve been able to help a number of new users that way already. Often we can match the email address to the account and resolve it within our initial reply
Also thank you for putting this together! It’s very helpful

Sounds like a great system!
Also thank you for putting this together!
You’re welcome! From one Canadian Lemmy instance to another, thank you for all the work you do!
Altho I didn’t see anyone complain about Mbin having troubles with registration, my instance’s meta community is !fedia@fedia.io . It’s the biggest Mbin instance
Thanks! Added. Do you know if any of your admins are active on Reddit?
Thanks! Added. Do you know if any of the admins of those instances have a presence on Reddit?
I doubt they are very active there, as they seem busy enough taking care of PieFed.
@andrew_s@piefed.social : If you’re on Reddit, there’s someone here who wants you on a list to help lost redditors with on-boarding.
Hi, no sorry, I’m not active on Reddit. I don’t have backend access here either, so wouldn’t be able help out if something went wrong.
feddit.uk (u/mighty3mperor)
Also @Demigodrick@lemmy.zip is u/Demigodrick - he’s been pitching in over on The Bad Place.
Thanks! Added.
Same thread has @lemmy_tr@lemmy.com.tr.
It looks like @lemmy_tr@lemmy.com.tr hasn’t been active in 5 months. This instance is still online, but is it actively maintained?
Edit: It’s also still on 0.19.5.
Ah yes, that has come up before. The dangers of having only one Admin.
They’re active on Reddit, so if another Turkish user wanted to help Admin, they could contact them there. It’d be a pity to see this go.
Added to the list for completeness’ sake, though the instance doesn’t have a dedicated support community.
Thanks! Added. Do you know if any of your admins have a presence on Reddit?
One of our Admins still moderates their Reddit community, but we are also in regular contact with the other mods who chose to stay behind.

Would they be willing to be an ambassador/point-of-contact for Redditors who are interested in startrek.website, in case they encounter any issues during signup?
@williams_482@startrek.website thoughts here?
I still have a Reddit account and am willing to help people figure out Lemmy registration, but I do not moderate any active Reddit communities.

Thanks! Would you be willing to post your username here so I can add it to the OP?
Sure. /u/williams_482
Oh, my bad! Also congratulations.
I’m not sure but the instance was started by the reddit mods I will ask and let you know
@fxomt@lemmy.dbzer0.com Do you think we might consider pinning this post? I will do my best to keep it up to date.
I can pin it
Thanks. It seems to be pinned on dbzer0 and literature.cafe, but not on many remote instances:
Yes, then the bug is still there. We can only pin posts from local accounts.
Would you have any dbzer0 alt by any chance? If not, I can copy paste the content once it’s stable
Yes, I do: @threelonmusketeers@lemmy.dbzer0.com
That account is now a mod! Thank you for everything you do!
Thanks, likewise!
Wait, you’re a mod here?
Are you still surprised? 😄
Yes, I am. I don’t see you listed as a mod when I view the community on my home instance or on dbzer0.
kbin.earth has !kbinEarth@kbin.earth
Thanks, added. Do you know if any of your admins are active on Reddit?
Do you know if any of your admins are active on Reddit?
I don’t, but I can try tagging the two I know of: @aasatru @jwr1
Sadly I don’t think Mbin currently shows a list of admins anywhere, so not sure if that’s everyone. My Reddit account is u/jwr12135.
And yeah, it’s just us two admins (nobody else).
Thanks! Added.
I’m not active on Reddit. Super happy to help people out if they make their way over here, though!
- lemmynsfw.com - there’s !lemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com but only mods can create posts. I couldn’t find any direct equivalent to a support comm.
- lemmygrad.ml - !questions@lemmygrad.ml ; there’s also !announcements@lemmygrad.ml for official content
- lemmy.eco.br - support strictu sensu is done through Matrix, https://matrix.to/#/#lemmyecobr:matrix.org . But there’s also !brasil@lemmy.eco.br to talk about the server.
Thanks! Added.
Dbzer0 on reddit
Thanks! Added.
!feddit_nl@feddit.nl is used more than !meta@feddit.nl.
Thanks! Added.

Also, could we consider adding a direct link to !main@sh.itjust.works in our sidebar? (In addition to the links to the “Getting Started” guide and Lemmy Support)
That’s a good idea. I added !main@sh.itjust.works to the instance sidebar. I also added a clearer link to our instance’s Matrix chat.
Thanks!
Nice!
I don’t have a working reddit account anymore, but if you find someone that needs help with setting up an account, either direct them to the matrix room or maybe be kind of an ambassador for them in the matrix room?
I realize matrix isn’t the easiest or most convenient and we’ll discuss alternatives.Yes, asking people to register on Matrix so that they can register on Lemmy will probably have high drop out rates
Yea I know, if they’re having trouble signing up on lemmy, shoving them into matrix isn’t gonna work.
Yeah, I think the fraction of Redditors (even among those who are interested in Lemmy) who already use Matrix is pretty small. Asking them to sign up for yet another service to debug Lemmy issues will turn people away.
Fortunately, kersploosh has volunteered to be an ambassador for sh.itjust.works on Reddit.
Yea, it’d also make sense to have an easier channel of communication regardless of reddit.
Do you have a support email address shared between the admins? Lemmy.ca have one, and include it in the sidebar of their instance.
This honestly show be integrated as part of all UIs. A button to send you to a help forum, preferably one that does not require the user to understand what federation is.
The people who are going to see this list know what they are doing and can navigate the Threadiverse.
Most of the instances have their support community in their sidebars
A surprisingly large fraction of instances do not, as I discovered when compiling this list.
Well done then!
