Westworld. HBO made a series based on the 70s movie and it was amazing. Had a really strong cast too, but then Discovery went on their hatchet spree and killed it.
I definitely was and it only got better imo. It felt like people got too invested in the “western in the park fantasy” part when really it was telling a larger story between the struggles of man, machine and the meaning of sentience on a global scale.
Hate shit like this. Same thing happened with Lost. Just focus on making a good story, then if people figure it out ahead of time… so what? You’ve still made something good
Oh i’ve never heard of this! So the story originally intended to go in a different direction? Where can i read about that? Is there a particular post where this was discussed?

i felt like it fell in quality pretty heavily once it got past like 75% of s2. were people still watching it?

i did find the struggle between man, machine and the meaning of sentience to be more engaging against the backdrop of western in the park.

HBO was ruined. Their quality definitely took a dive after that merger/enshitification whatever.
