The flag is the Druze flag, and the guy on the left is Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa, leader of HTS and current president of Syria
Thanks! After skimming https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Druze I still don’t get it. Seems they are a minority in Syria, despite their contributions to toppling al-Assad.
I believe it’s about how Israel is invading southwestern Syria under the pretence of protecting the Druze community there. There have been a couple of small skirmishes between local Druze fighters and the new Syrian government, but it seems like Israel is basically testing whether or not it can pseudo-annex the area like it did with the adjacent Golan Heights
