I was once stuck on a train near Donner pass for 6 or 8 hours. The train had a whole car that had been booked by a girlscout group, so I got to spend a chunk of that time listening to a few tweens debate what order to eat everyone in.
That’s just girls being girls tbh
god forbid girls have hobbies
It was been way too long since I’ve watched that.
The South Park guys did a musical loosely based on that called Cannibal the Musical.
Cannibal the Musical was based on Alfred Packer, not the Donner Party. Much later and different circumstances.
I stand corrected. Now I will learn about Alfred Packer.
Shpadoinkle!!
A horse is a horse, of course, OF COURSE!
Sometimes I forget about how much of a weird history nerd I am until someone reminds me that “no…not everyone already knows about weird history shit off the top of their head.”
The Donner Party was definitely common knowledge among kids in the 90s.
Patch Adams helps. https://youtu.be/KmpvNTb3UGc?t=1m4s
Recommend the book The Indifferent Stars Above. Shits brutal
A blast from the past: https://xkcd.com/30/
Abraham Lincoln almost joined the trip but decided against taking the job offer in San Francisco
Before long this just might be a normal Tuesday in America.
For Shia LaBeouf!
Actual cannibal Shia LaBeouf?!

The Sky is blue…
Niiiice hat!
I love her video about the Donner Party
There’s a great podcast series on this on Legends of the Old West that details the events that lead up to this tragedy.
