I mean, it’s a variety of sourced quotes from respected journalists who were there. You probably should read them all, if only so you can point out to the Hexbears where they mention all the people who died in the area around the Square. The sources mostly say “no one got gunned down literally in the Square.”
In any case, it’s fucking weird to obsess over it. It’s like trying to give Biden crap about the Kent State Massacre while he’s rounding up all the Mormons.
Weird to obsess over it? This is an insane take. The CCP killed THOUSANDS of people at Tiananmen… they ran people over with tanks… they brutalized students just for doing what they do every year as per tradition since before Mao’s time. There are videos of these things happening. We dont need some hexbear CCP propoganda saying otherwise. The worst part about it is that they made it illegal to talk about it in open forums and actively scrub the information of this event from sites that their public can see.
They’ve arrested more than a million Uyghurs for their “reeducation” camps. Who knows how many people they’ve killed or brutalized.
The occupation of Tibet killed well over a million people.
The Cultural Revolution killed at least hundreds of thousands.
And there is simply no credible source to support thousands, and if you were literate and not an intellectually lazy dumb bastard you’d have read through all the eye witness accounts and noted that whatever it was it wasn’t the kind of massacre people imagine.
So yes, you dork, try obsessing over something on a whole different magnitude of fucked up with concrete proof instead of shit that’s not even in their top ten worst acts even with the highest guesses.
Thats actually a weird ‘whatabout’ that applies to the same people. You can talk about both things its just fun to poke at Tiananmen because they arent allowed to talk about it. They can defend Xinjiang activity or Maos conquest all day.
I agree with that commenter. I do not claim that “nothing happened”. I said this in my earlier comments, that I just don’t think it’s a problem worth my attention.
Not even going to click on that, the domain tells me everything I need to know considering the topic we talk about!

Plenty of evidence cited there from multiple sources. You don’t have to open it, but the evidence is there shall you question it.
Abother user made a very good comment about this under my post, might be worth checking out!
