      I think sex work isn’t seen as work in many countries, so globally, it’s relevant to highlight the right way to protect people.

      Worldwide, sex workers are vulnerable due to reluctance of governments to regulate the industry.

      This could be the beginning of a chain reaction, like when Ireland banned smoking. It was a groundbreaking move at the time that was subsequently followed by over 70 countries. Now one quarter of the world’s population are protected by those prohibitions.

        I didn’t know that Ireland was ahead on this. A quick search confirms that this wiki page exists: Smoking in Ireland.

        Public opinion is in favour of the bans on smoking which are in place in Ireland.

          There was a lot of scepticism at the time. We didn’t think the pubs would obey or that the state could enforce it. But the next day it went of without a hitch, from what we could tell anyway.
