    It’s so that people have a harder time saying “yes officer it was a Toyota Camry” unless they’re familiar with the body style enough to know it isn’t a Honda Accord without the markings. “A truck” is less descriptive than “A black Dodge Ram 1500.”

      Look, avoiding Undercovers is half the reason I can tell a car by it’s headlights or taillights, so sorry Nissan Altima with paper plates, I can tell you’re a 2008 from 150m, day or night.

        Not everyone is as adept. (And that Altima was probably recently purchased used, tbf lol).

        Also I’ve seen a ~25yo undercover minivan with the paint half worn to primer in my area, that trick is less reliable here since 2010ish.
