Summary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims Russian forces are burning the faces of dead North Korean soldiers to hide their involvement in Ukraine.

He says North Koreans are now being deployed in significant numbers, particularly in Russia’s Kursk region, where 200 have reportedly been killed or wounded.

The U.S. confirmed indications of North Korean casualties, while South Korea imposed sanctions on officials and entities involved in North Korea-Russia military cooperation.

It’s not like DNA testing wouldn’t confirm they’re Koreans. They’re just wasting fuel doing this.

A picture is worth 1000 words.

Pictures of DNA don’t tell laymen much about who is involved.

Because they are insisting the Koreans aren’t fighting so the countries that support Ukraine have plausible deniability and can say they don’t see signs of escalation, despite the fact that NK soldiers are fighting in Ukraine.

IIRC it was the same story with iranian, north korean and chinese equipment and munitnions yet russians stuck to the narration of domestic production and collective west made an angry face, with a few sactions thrown here and there. I think equipment and ammunition were much greater escalation than boots on the ground, greater in a sense real impact on the war.

You see, Ukraine is starting to rethink the idea of not having nuclear weapons and that makes them bad, unlike nice and friendly Russia who already have all the nuclear weapons they need and have Orthodox priests bless them on the regular.

Mentioning that in this context does give the distinct impression you want to cast doubt on the fact that NK conscripts are being employed by russia though. Why else would you mention that here?

The article literally just quotes a few leaders like the hundreds of other articles on this topic. The fact none of you even read it and can’t seem to do anything but attack the source doesn’t exactly suggest good faith. I suppose every comment not talking about the burning faces is a distraction.

They are talking about .ml unironically, outright saying the truth - that .ml is a pure tankie propaganda instance and 99% of the time someone from there comes out to spout unsupported claims, get into a “PROVE MY EXTRAODINARY CLAIMS AREN’T TRUE” argument, loses it immediately and still tries to excuse a murderous regime literally melting the faces of their soldiers so they couldn’t be recognized by anyone.

Like NK soldiers are there and we know they’re there. This explanation doesn’t seem to pass the straight face test.

                  Seriously?

On Monday, President Zelensky posted drone footage on Telegram that showed a number of men taking cover behind trees, saying they were North Korean troops who had just taken part in an assault on a Ukrainian position.

He also posted footage which he said showed Russian troops trying to conceal the presence of North Koreans on the battlefield by using a campfire to burn the faces of those who had been killed.

All you had to do was read the article and you didn’t bother because you’re too convinced you’re right and all of these sources are lying.

It’s not even a very long article.
