Though I can tell you from the time I spend in the game, even when you use the original model of those creatures, it’s hard to gauge if they are dead or not. I have definitely spend lots of time standing on rock, shooting frantically at something that turned out to be a corpse lateron.
fortunately once you are supposed to be expanding to areas with hyper boss level spiders you should have strong weapons like the explosive rebar and scatter nobelisk + a jetpack with good fuel
i usually shoot them more and if they make no more sound they are ded
ammo is automated into the pocket dimension, no need to save it

That works? I tried it and somehow it did not do a thing for me. Maybe it was a bug.
dimensional storage uploader building thing works for everything unless the belt is blocked or the item is full
