We have some bad news. I’ve had to rollback to the the 9th. We are running out of disk space and I tried all kind of things to free up space, and they all are not working. The best I can do is remove certain communities and try and prune when I can, but I don’t know what to do at this point.
The only way is to I guess upgrade space, but I don’t know how long that will last. I’d like some thoughts about it, I guess.
yeah…I didn’t realize the software wasn’t mature enough to not have purging tools for stuff like this. I’ve been not responding because I like having a little thing like this, but didn’t realize it would guzzle up space like that.
Sorry! I really didn’t mean for that to come off as rude as it sounded. I just meant, worst case scenario, if the server ends being a massive pain to manage/fund then you shouldn’t feel obligated to keep it up. I wonder if the lemmy community has something similar to the mastodon admin discord group where you could maybe compare notes with other admins about storage/config issues.
They do in a way, there is an admin matrix room. But I guess they would be to say in small works…uh…non-less techy friendly? I can figure out a lot but all my searches of the matrix has just been “hey how to I get csam off my server” “idk, grep the database and delete some of those images, idk the query, we just don’t have tools for it SHRUG”
