Except I didn’t realise that if you had a crummy youth, nostalgia just brings back all the fear you used to feel. No more nostalgic stuff from childhood for me. Never occurred to me before that this is something that might happen. Gratefully, that time is long ago now.

Stressful childhoods are a life long affliction. I’m envious of people who had pleasant childhoods. It’s a life cheat code.
