I guess I’ve been liking lemmy more and I think that’s because I really like the jerboah app.

Since Reddit killed almost all third party apps, and it’s clear they don’t really want them on their site, I’ve left Reddit for Lemmy. And Voyager is like a carbon copy of Apollo so the choice was easy.

I can’t stand the official Reddit app, and I feel like Narwhal’s days are numbered, no matter how optimistic det0ur is. Reddit has shown that they don’t keep their word.

I have unfortunately not fully divorced myself from it, but now that I have to use the official app, I just feel like I am inundated with posts that their algorithm decides I should see. Literally all I see is variations on AITA or other drama subs (amiwrong, twohottakes, redditonwiki, bestofredditorupdates, AITAH, etc…) and it’s just exhausting and boring. I used to enjoy reddit because I felt like I came away more educated (on some level) but now it just feels like Facebook. Oh and a shit ton of ads that absolutely suck.

Reddit is a fall back but without an account if I need to see if people are having issues with an online game for example. But other than that nah man.

Fuck em. Lemmy has enough cool stuff for me. I run out of content though after fifteen minutes though.

I’m going to be making my own mastodon server soon so I want to replace majority of my miscellaneous scrolling and commenting I was doing on twitter with that. I had deleted my twitter but brought it back because it’s one of the few exclusive ways I can communicate with brands or game companies to request new features. And it seems to work when I give feedback on there. So it’s hard to get rid of from a practical sense.

I still go back to Reddit for a few niche communities that haven’t migrated to the Fediverse. I will never go back to randomly perusing it though. Lemmy has filled that function for me.
