I haven’t thought about this years. Now I’m remembering those cloaked things that would hug you until your bones fell out. Yikes. That movie was quite a thing to watch over and over on TBS as a kid.
Beastmaster is my cat’s favorite movie. No joke. If I put it one she will watch the whole thing. She was not impressed with beastmaster 2.
We used to have a video club at Primary School (5-12 years) where you’d pay something like 10p to watch a film after school on a crappy TV. One such film was Beastmaster, we also watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, and inexplicably Assault on Precinct 13 (one of the older kids brought it in and told us younger ones not to say anything to the teachers)
Needless to say, I loved Beastmaster and Raiders, and didn’t have a clue what was happening in Precinct 13 apart from the swearing and violence…Fun times
Supporting cast includes John Amos, from Roots, Good Times, and Coming to America.
This is a great “Good/Bad” movie. I watched it a lot growing up. It is messed up they dyed a tiger black during filming.
Pierce as The Beastmaster in Community was the best!
