I read a similar critique comparing Catcher in the Rye and “The Bell Jar”. So I read The Bell Jar, and I was blown away. Such potent book! The representation of women’s constraining roll in society is incredibly moving.
Now I’ll have to add Ex-Wife to my reads, and compare it to Gatsby. I honestly liked Gatsby, so a similar book would be interesting.
