“Quick! Allow cars to run on bunker fuels!”
Is Australia trying a mad-max speedrun?

A lack of laziness I suppose. I’ve been using it on and off over the years and have Mint in dual boot right now in preperation for a post-win10 migration, but I’m constantly running into various small/large issues. In the past few years I’ve had issues with wifi drivers, with gpu drivers (f u again nvidia), issues with sleep mode and battery drain, issues with finding equivalent os management tools ( totalcmd, task manager, treeview etc ), issues with “alternative source” games etc. I’ve also had issues wrapping my head around bottles and wine prefixes ( but I will admit wine is an excellent piece of software and has come a looong way since the mid 00s ).
Linux is great if you’re a tinkerer because you will need to tinker with it at some point or another. But as I get older I just can’t be arsed most of the time.
…Étoile de mer

Lol, I feel you with Balatro. Played on and off for the past year and reached a 6/8 at most. It’s fine for a quick short run every now and then but i do not get the obsession with it.
For me one is Ghost of Tsushima. Must’ve started it like five times before finally deciding I just don’t dig katana fights.
Another is Baldur’s Gate 3. I rally want to like it and it does look like a properly polished game, but man I hate the DnD dice roll mechanic with a passion.

No but seriously, please don’t do this

It doesn’t matter if they are or not. Google can deem them modified or not secure devices and they can do fuck all about it.

This is what I fear will happen to GOS on Motos. Google decides to mark them as rooted so buh-bye banking apps and others that require a “secure” os.

Then what is the fucking point of law if it only applies to those who we deem fit?

Lol, they won’t. But don’t worry - after they fail the American taxpayer will have to pay the bail out regardless

One can only hope

Some victory. PC sales have been plummeting in favour of mobile and now component prices. Console space is now done with any semblance of competition - Sony is a monopoly and will soon start behaving as such. And xbox’s portfolio of many many IPs will go straight to the bin.

They’re gonna fuck up Forza Horizon 6 and Fable, aren’t they? I was cautiosly optimistic about those two under Phil, but I’m pretty sure they’re doomed now

So Everspace but multiplayer?

That whole “civilizational erasure” quote was so vague, grand and threatening that it sounded just like it came straight out of kremlin. It’s the kind of bullshit declaration russians love to make

I know Sennheisers are german but those are also made in Romania these days. Nice to see Meze here as well
Anecdotally, while I love my sennies because nothing sounds like them, I’m still nursing a pair of older 559s and hoping they last forever because absolutely every single one of the newer ones I bought had or developed issues.

Discord probably did the math and are willing to take a hit to the user counts (much like reddit did when they closed the apis), as the vast majority will stay and keep “threatening” to leave. There’s at least the hope that the ones who quit now will establish communities elsewhere, on a (hopefully) better server platform.

targeting tech companies who, they believe, are not doing enough to stand up against President Trump’s aggressive immigration crackdown
Oh ffs, they’re not doing enough because they’ve submitted to him! They literally went to his inauguration to kiss the ring!
But better to wake up late then never I suppose

One of the major changes with Civilization VI was that Firaxis had access to lot more player telemetry, compared to Civilisation V, rather than monitoring the feedback on Reddit and fansites like CivFanatics. Amongst other things, they discovered that most players don’t finish a single game, which is part of the reason for Civ 7’s more broken-up, modular historical progression.
So they used all that user data to change the future game to appeal to the lowest common denominator, as it were. And it resulted in the most controversial civ of recent years. And their plan for the future? Continue like this, of course - only now they’re considering formalizing this approach with an official EA label. God I hate the gaming landscape these days
Getting real tired of this armchair activism, man. I get it, we all hate LLMs but it’s literally one or two burnt out guys writing this in their spare time. If people really want to do something useful at least go and review the code and then you can shit on his work for legitimate reasons if you really do find it’s bad. Stop demonizing open source devs ffs.
