Nice that you’re using Proton Pass on Ubuntu yourselves and have experience yourselves in upgrading your Proton Pass app through the snap store when prompted by Proton to upgrade. It’s always nice to hear the advice of people who have hands on experience .
Funny though that Proton are providing different and detailed instructions in the actual app and on their web site. I should have realised that I should ignore Protons update instructions and instead use flatpack and snap store in combination, like you obviously did when updating the app.
Also pretty daft of me to share the solution to how to follow Protons instructions.
Well, I’m following the instructions provided by Proton, which feels more accurate than taking your word for how it should be done. In the app itself there’s a link to the page with download and instructions.
Are you using Proton Pass on Ubuntu (Debian)? Have you upgraded Proton Pass on Ubuntu (Debian)? Are you an employee of Proton? By what authority do you hand out this advice?
Also this isn’t about “the Proton apps” in general. It’s about Proton Pass on Ubuntu specifically.
What about Delta Chat? In my experience easy to get started with for non-techy people. I managed to force my wife and kids to switch to Delta when I quit iMessage and got a Fairphone/eOS phone.

Thanks for your reply. I’m sort of looking for graphics like I tried to describe rather than how to find software and apps.
