This is a non-story with a purposefully misleading headline. There’s absolutely nothing noteworthy about a candidate saying that their opponent is going to lose an upcoming debate, regardless of who said it or what party they’re with.
It’s not like any of them can “win” the debate. These stopped being actual debates back when Kennedy showed up on color TV. A Republican hasn’t made a salient point in front of a camera since McCain gave Congress his thumbs down and prevented them from nuking Obamacare. There used to be points and scoring but modern times it all comes down to who looks best in whatever 1.2 seconds of video trends best on tik tok.
It sounds like he was talking about the primary, not the debate. And he’s dropping out, so she’s not his opponent. I don’t care much about what Christie says, but it’s newsworthy when a former contender makes a statement about the remaining contenders.
Maybe I’m wrong but it seems someone who has been in politics that long knows the mic is always hot. He meant for it to be heard.
It’s a race to see who gets to lose to Trump by 30-40 points.
I mean, the only reason any of the other candidates are in the race was on the off-chance that somehow Trump dropped out due to his ongoing legal problems OR to run for Trump’s VP pick. Christie and Pence were never getting that slot anyways. As long as the others don’t disparage Trump during the race, it’s a toss-up between them, though given Trump’s birther remarks about Haley recently, she’s likely out too.
Might be the only thing i’ll ever agree with Chris Christie on.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
He’s often right when he’s being critical of Republicans. My grampa is really good at catching fish in the seafood aisle of the grocery store.
I love that analogy. The form is so easy to reuse. It’s like dancing in a chair!

Exactly. Christie can tell a piece of crap because he is a piece of crap.
He meant like bacon?
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Chris Christie was caught on a hot mic Wednesday night, appearing to say that Nikki Haley was going to get “smoked” in the Republican presidential race.
Christie’s comments came while he was offstage before his event in Windham, N.H., where he announced that he was dropping his presidential bid.
A source familiar told NBC News that the Florida governor called Christie earlier today — after hearing rumors that he would be dropping out — and said that regardless of his decision, he appreciated his role in the race.
The source also said Christie went after Haley pretty hard in the conversation, calling her a joke and saying that she has performed terribly and is not up to the task.
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign reveled in the hot mic moment, posting the audio on his Truth Social account and tweeting about it.
Voters have a clear choice in this election: the chaos and drama of the past or a new generation of conservative leadership.

Why are you spreading this nonsense? Who cares what Chris Christie says?
Even CNN is reporting on it…
Now show the picture of you taking this picture of CNN on your phone.
That’s cool and all, but again: who cares about him?
