Charcoal on paper, using a neat little technique I came across while experimenting with different desktop surfaces :)
Love this, how did you do the light background with the charcoal?
By using a different kind of charcoal :) In this case I used willow charcoal for the background, which turns out lighter than the charcoal I usually use.
He looks like he needs some good sleep and a hug…
And also maybe to stop staring directly into the sun. Weirdly more relatable on all three counts than it ought to be lol
