This is like the Google answers questions I get in my email about local businesses where someone has asked “Is Jerry working today?” lol

I actually wrote that once. But only because I kept getting phone calls from a random business in Indiana in which they would yell as loud as they could into the phone and hang up. It wasn’t a fluke either, it happened many times from the same number. So I left a review that started with “I’ve never set foot in this location, but…”

Someone probably spoofed your caller ID and was harassing them. Whoever answers the phones there was probably pretty frustrated and didn’t realize this and thought they were calling back the scammer.

It happens more frequently than you’d think

I actually had to change my phone number due to something similar. The last 7 digits of my phone number was the first 7 digits of the spammer’s area code + number. So when people called back the missed number from a landline (for those that don’t remember, the local area code was implied when using a landline phone), it would call me. Eg:

            1. landline user sees missed call from (123) 456-7890, ie: the spammer
            2. landline returns call to (local area code) 123-4567, ie: me
            3. people calling me all day and asking why i called them
            4. voice mail box full of confused boomers.
            5. 700 precious shared family minutes decimated (for those that don’t remember, you used to have minute limits for your cell phone plan and would get charged exorbitant rates for going over) and lectures from my dad about responsibility

It’s happened to me a few times, usually they would stop after a week or two. It hasn’t really been an issue since I got a spam blocker now though

My buddies construction company had a 1 star review.

It was only one review, and it said “don’t even know the guy” and nothing else.
