    And as suspected this interaction just reads to me as a dumbass old whete guy clumsily trying to compliment a young girl’s hair and make her feel good about herself. Yes, it was awkward and tasteless but I don’t believe for a second that he was thinking “buy her” as in slavery terms. I think Trump is a moron too and it irks me that he is president but everyone who is screaming “slave owner vibes” about this, is as crazy as the MAGA nuts on the other end of the spectrum.

      Yeah I don’t think Trump thinks about slavery in that context. He’s just literally obsessed with money.

      I think youre right and he’s just trying to give a compliment. He thinks what would be the best thing he can say and it’s “I think that thing is worth a lot of money”.

      Demented autocrat who shouldn’t be president but he’s just being awkward here, not racist. He is a racist, sure, but he’s not behaving racist here. Just awkward.

        People quoted in that article are talking about how Trump wants to “buy black women” and how that is a normal mindset in Trump circles. That’s just wild to me because he clearly wasn’t trying to claim he could buy this woman. He was very obviously trying to compliment her but since he’s a narcissistic psychopath, he couldn’t do that without also boasting about his own wealth.
