When WordPerfect was great. Reveal Codes was incredible. That and a HP Laserjet 5P was a solid combo.
Oh yeah, I remember these! They were often shaped to fit in around the strip of function keys (and some weird ones down the side?)
I remember getting these for games. They were awesome, but they never fit my keyboard.
I remember having a few of these for WordPerfect, MS Word for DOS and Lotus 1-2-3.
I truly miss reveal codes. It was an amazing feature.
If I remember correctly, wordperfect was so prevalent that most of the key combos also worked in lotus word pro/ami pro and Microsoft word out of the box.
What is reveal codes?
It would basically let you see all the hidden characters that indicate formatting, which made it possible to see why your text would suddenly display in a weird way.
Is it like show formatting marks / show hidden symbols in modern software, that shows ends of paragrahs and tabs?
Closer to html “view source”, or the “developer tools” you find in a web browser.
