gave up on trying to upload image directly to the lemmy instance and started using freeimage.host. only works for images so if you need to upload video check out catbox.moe. be warned catbox’s uptime is iffy every now and then.

There does seem to be an issue with it only displaying as a small thing tho instead of the whole post size
