Well, Star Trek has a lot of diversity now a days on what kind of Trek you’re looking for. Something that I’m really happy about! Gives a lot more paths and ways to work into Trek. While I do agree that TNG (The Next Generation) is the best of Trek, it’s not necessarily going to be always the best thing to get someone hooked on Trek.

So what kind of Sci-Fi are you looking for? What’s your vibe? Whats your jam? Any other Sci-Fi that you like? Might very well be that TNG is your best start but I figured I’d ask <3

I really love classic scifi short stories like those from Ray Bradbury and Isaac Assimov. I also enjoy a lot of the works from Frank Herbert and Robert Heinlein. Recently really enjoyed the three body problem trilogy.

I guess I mostly like scifi with philisophical overtones, hard or soft, serious or silly doesn’t matter.

Whereas The Original Series feels more like Lost In Space and Buck Rogers, The Next Generation pulls a lot of ideas from the old sci-fi greats and leans heavily into cerebral science fiction.

The Animated Series has episodes actually written by some classic sci-fi authors, like Larry Nivens.

Then yeah, TNG lol Voyager isn’t a bad jumping off point either but TNG is definitely superior in that vein
