+1 to this guide. I don’t agree with all of their ratings (I liked some of the episodes they recommended skipping), but I used it when I started watching Star Trek and now I’m obsessed.
Thanks for this. I’m starting TNG right now, and I’m wondering about the eps my SO says are skippable, so this is helpful. Also, I’m on season 2 and the finale is a 0?! Wow, that’s surprising! Looks like it really picks up in season 3 tho, so excited!
I’m not gonna spoil it, but you won’t miss anything if you skip S02E22. That season “finale” is an unfortunate casualty of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike of 1988 and doesn’t contribute anything of value to Trek lore. A zero rating is pretty harsh, though.
Oh yeah, TNG really finds its footing in season 3. You’re gonna love it.
Will do. Unless somebody goes nuts about this starting point, I’ll start my journey tonight.
To infinity and beyond! or whatever the Darleks say
Use a view guide. The first 2 seasons are a rough watch. I like this one.

Thank you. I’ll try out the shitters but I’m keeping this bookmarked just in case…
Going to second a viewing guide. There’s like a thousand hours of Star Trek now, I don’t blame anyone for not sitting through it all. Here is another I’ve used before https://old.reddit.com/r/DaystromInstitute/wiki/algernonguide_tng
I can’t say I agree with all of these - I’m glad I watched Angel One for… reasons…
Same
That was the moment when I was like, “This Ryker guy is amazing. He gives no effs, just goes with it.”
Some my favorite guilty pleasures are the “bad episodes”.
@RampantParanoia2365 @owen agreed, house of quark, body and soul, the ascent - not the best available but highly iconic

dont bother that much - just enjoy the show
I’d agree, although the original movies are also great. But TNG basically establishes the “modern” world going forward.
Who the fuck downvoted this? What the actual fuck? Why?
